Accelerating plant phenomics
The high-throughput imaging systems of The Plant Accelerator (LemnaTec Scanalyzer 3D) provide new possibilities for the quantitative and non-destructive analysis of crops and model plants.
Each plant is imaged sequentially in multiple camera units with a range of different wavelengths that reach far beyond human vision. The result is an unprecedented number of reproducible data points on any aspects of plant development.
The combined data 'snapshot' for each imaging run consists of thirteen images and up to several hundred data points per plant. Plants can be imaged in multiple runs throughout their lifecycle, providing data for unparalleled monitoring of plant development.
