APPF Governance

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) provides advice to the Executive Management Committee (EMC) in a number of operational, strategic and scientific areas to assist the effective operation of the Facility. The SAB is comprised of:

  • Tony Bacic, Director, Plant Cell Biology Research Centre, and Deputy Director, ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Cell Walls, University of Melbourne, Melbourne Vic
  • Ros Gleadow, Cyanogenesis Group, Monash University, Melbourne Vic
  • Graeme Hammer, Director, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, University of Queensland, Brisbane Qld
  • Hans Lambers, Head, School of Plant Biology, University of Western Australia, Perth WA
  • John Manners (SAB Chair), Deputy Chief, CSIRO Agriculture, Canberra ACT
  • Francois Tardieu, Research Director, INRA, Montpellier, France

The Executive Management Committee (EMC) sets the strategic direction of the APPF. The EMC, which involves key management personnel of the APPF and the chair of the SAB, is responsible for ensuring the successful and integrated design and operation of the facility, its effective management, governance and community research service outcomes, and for setting then achieving milestones, and appropriate fiscal management of the facility.

The APPF User Group provides user feedback to support the continuous improvement of the APPF's capabilities. The annual User Group Workshop discusses scientific projects undertaken at the facility, scientific and technological developments and future directions, infrastructure needs, networking and funding opportunities.
